Dr. Dietmar POSSELT

Dietmar is a highly experienced professional in the fuels industry, with a remarkable career spanning over 30 years. Notably, he held the position of Head of aviation fuel additives at BASF, where he made significant contributions to the field. Currently, he is lending his expertise to support the approvals of new sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs). His deep understanding of fuel-related matters and extensive industry knowledge make him an invaluable asset to the company and its clients.

In addition to his involvement with Aviation Fuel Projects Consulting, Dietmar holds prominent positions within various organizations. He serves as the Chair Emeritus and Board Member of the International Association for Stability, Handling, and Use of Liquid Fuels (IASH), demonstrating his commitment to promoting best practices and safety standards in the industry. Dietmar's active participation extends to the ASTM International Fuels Group, the Coordinating Research Council (CRC) for Aviation Fuels, Aireg – the German Aviation Initiative for Alternative Fuels, and the IATA Technical Fuel Group.

These roles allow him to contribute to important discussions and initiatives, shaping the future of aviation fuels and driving advancements in the field.

Mark EMBLETON

Mark is an expert in lube oil chemistry and application, and currently manages Maersk Line’s lubrication strategy, including product selection and usage guidelines, development of unique products and solutions, environmental compliance, used oil analysis and R&D work.

Mark has a background in oil chemistry and formulation. He is responsible for both the selection of products to be used in the Maersk fleet and providing the crew and shore staff with guidance on best practices for their application. Mark heads Maersk’s used oil analysis program and has worked extensively on the blend-on-board system. He is also involved in the development of several unique products and solutions aimed at maximising efficiency and reliability.

Mark is an active member of the CIMAC Working Group 8 and has a keen interest in reducing the environmental impact of the industry. His current areas of focus include future fuel readiness, emissions and energy efficiency.

Gabriel is a seasoned business leader with an impressive 18-year tenure in the chemicals & fuels industry, Gabriel had consistently excelled in steering high-performing sales teams across the Asia-Pacific region. As a GRI certified professional, Gabriel serves as the Principal Consultant for our Sustainability consulting service. He is currently holding an Adjunct Lecturer role in Singapore Polytechnic giving Sustainability Reporting courses.
